TVS Accessories talks to car companies for co-branded products
CHENNAI: TVS Accessories, the two and four-wheeler accessories arm of TVS Automobile Solutions, is rolling out a new branding strategy to tap the $2 billion car and motorcycle accessories market with its own and co-branded products and warranty options. To that end the company is liaising with car companies to supply accessories to them and handle aftermarket fitment as well. In the two-wheeler segment it is exploring alliances with global riding and accessories brands and has already tied up with Caberg for helmets and SCOYCO for riding gear.

Vroooming Beyond The Horizon
TVS accessories, earlier known as Jazzmyride, has been able to completely outperform India’s fledgling startup industry. With a seed capital of just Rs 10,000 by its founders in 2011, the company, now partly owned by TVS Group, has become India’s largest online seller for bike and car accessories. Aiming to clock a topline of Rs 30 crore during this financial year, the Delhi-based firm is on course to achieve the Rs 100 crore mark by the turn of the decade. Already selling more than 10,000 products from 50-plus brands, the company wants to diversify into CV or bicycle accessories in the medium term.

JAZZMYRIDE TO OPEN 100 RETAIL OUTLETS IN 3 YEARS
Jazzmyride, a Delhi-based auto accessory solutions provider, said on Tuesday (March 15) that it is working to bring convergence in its online and offline operations. The 6-year old firm has laid down a three-phase plan to make the convergence happen. In the first phase, Jazzmyride is looking to strengthen its presence in the e-commerce platform. In the second phase, it plans to open more retail outlets. "We are looking to open 100 retail outlets in the next three years," Sunil Dhingra, co-founder, Jazzmyride said. At present, it has 3 outlets in the country. The company will follow a top to bottom approach in opening dealership and wants to put in place a good franchise model.

Startup Jazzmyride sells car and bike accessories, utilities, spares via web store
Sixteen years ago, when Sunil Dhingra sold an item on Bazee.com (later acquired by ebay), he was very impressed. "The transaction happened very quickly and I realised the power of e-commerce when I was still in school," says Dhingra, 32. After completing his MBA from Symbiosis, Pune, Dhingra worked with various companies for about six years, and then decided to take the plunge into e-commerce. In April 2011, in partnership with his brother Mukesh, he founded Jazzmyride, a Web store for car and bike accessories. "After reading how Jeff Bezos built Amazon, I got enough inspiration to finally take the leap of faith," says Sunil.

TVS Automobile hits the start-up lane with ₹75-cr deals
TVS Automobile Solutions, part of the $6-billion TVS Group, will invest in three start-ups that make the auto aftermarket business simpler. The plan also marks the Chennai-based leading aftermarket player’s big leap into digital technology space. The company, which took a bold step in the TVS Group by going for private equity infusion about eight years ago, has invested about ₹75 crore to pick up majority stake in three start-ups — Jazzmyride.com, a ₹20-crore e-commerce player in auto parts and accessories business; Autosense, a big data and analytics-based marketing services firm; and RedSun, which is focused on developing solutions such as connected cars.

Jazzmyride to open stores in NCR
Online retailer of car and bike accessories Jazzmyride.com plans to set up offline retail stores, starting with the NCR region, in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal. “We will open offline stores in the NCR. We are opening the first one as a pilot model,” Jazzmyride Founder & CEO Sunil Dhingra told PTI. Founded in 2011, the company is looking to be a one-stop-shop for such items and provide customers off-the-shelf products too.
